Read & Write is a literacy software with tools that are designed for reading, writing, study, and research support.
Read & Write for Google is a toolbar that works with PC-Microsoft, Mac-Apple, and Chromebooks to provide extra help and supports for students.
Read & Write is beneficial to our learners who struggle with reading and writing. ESL learners and students with learning disabilities (i.e., dyslexia) particularly benefit from the tools and services provided by Read & Write .

Can Read & Write be available for all learners?
Read & Write allows students with learning disabilities to access and interact with the same documents as their peers and teachers. Read & Write is a useful and supportive technology for students of all abilities to gain confidence in reading, writing, research and studying.

Read & Write is beneficial for use in all subject areas, offering support with activities such as reading text out loud, understanding unfamiliar words, research, and both typing and proofing written work.
Benefits of Google Read & Write:
1. Boosts Reading Skills - Students highlight word passages, or whole documents to be read aloud for them . Students build their confidence and gain independence in reading and note taking.
2. Vocabulary Feature - Students can add their own visuals and make their own notes.
3. Dictionary Feature - Students can simply highlight a word that they do not know and they can click the dictionary or picture dictionary button.
4. Writing - Students spoken words can be turned into text as they speak. Google Read & Write will make suggestions for the current or next word as student is typing.
5. Research & Studying - Students find a webpage they want to research. They highlight the text and click "play" in the floating tool bar; the text is read aloud to them and the speed of the narration can be controlled by the user. The text can be simplified or summarized for the student.
